don't get performance leads!! they are a bloody waste of money and really, companies who advertise these leads as a means of power increase are commercial scam artists. if anything, these leads are very likely to interfere with electrical components... ESPECIALLY your stereo. a good set of OEM leads are more than qualified enough to do the job... unless you are running a V8 supercar. even then, i'm not even sure if those guys use performance leads :?

Oh they use 10mm leads on those cars.

The reason I got 9.0mm leads is that they were of a better quality and they were cheaper than a genuine mitsu set (when will mitsi ever fix that ridiculous part price problem??

They probably have a deal going about that helps to allow other companies (that they own shares in ) make money on non genuine parts. Why make parts when another company will. Just buy them off of them and have different badges put on them. Put them on the car an there you are. now if somone wants to buy "genuine parts" then charge em cause we make cars not parts.

Anyway the anti-competitive laws are ment to have stopped that and a warrantee cannot be voided if as good or better parts are put on instead of teh "genuinne" ones.

yup sadly in australia this happens blatantly especially the big guys like dave jones, it's shocking how they could have gotten away for so long with the prices they charge. even in barney's, sak's 5th avenue or harrods, which are some of the world's most exclusive department stores, you don't see these type of blatant mark-ups. i mean, up to 1000% mark-up on certain china-made apparel, that's not profit-making. that's cheating!
and telstra will prob screw dave jones for their telecom costs... talk about everyone screwing money out of everyone

anyway, back to spark plugs, the better leads do make a difference, all be most of us won't notice it, its not exactly a turbo is it! The lower the reistance of the lead (generally proportional to diameter) the more power reaches the spark plug and the bigger the spark. Most genuine leads will give a pretty good spark, especially on newer cars... but on older cars (like my old VL dunnidore, '90 pintara, '85 corona et al) they made a noticable improvement in responsiveness!!!)
